Feel The Burn
The Rockists post on My Morning Jacket reminded me of another much ballyhooed band we've yet to see: Kings of Leon. Well, we haven't done an official review. It's possible Potsy, Sacklunch, or Jimbromski has seen them live, but I haven't.
The only Kings of Leon album I listen to is Youth and Young Manhood but based on their new single, "Sex On Fire" their new CD, Only By The Night (out on 9/23/09) should be pretty good. Here's the very odd video for "Sex On Fire":

Another band I'd like to see live is Black Keys. They're playing at ACL on Saturday night (7:30-8:15). We should check them out and then head to Mohawk for Sunset Rubdown.
I was checking their site for a few months earlier in the year looking for tour info. I haven't seen them before, and was anxious to check them out. They're playing DC Nov. 10, but it's at DAR. Tix on sale today.
I'm debating whether to fork out $30 to see them here. It's at Austin Music Hall which seats over 4,000 people. That's DAR-ish. I have no idea if it's a good place for a show or not.
I saw them at the Black Cat a few yrs ago.
Are we really going to attend ACL all day, then come home, spray ourselves with Axe Body Spray, and go out and see more bands? This is madness. I'm going to come back from ACL and watch television.
Speaking of Axe Body Spray, here's that ad I was telling you about Jimbromski:

for some reason, I thought it was a television show at first...
Don't worry, after lunch (btw, I hear the food at ACL is pretty damn good) we'll have a mid-afternoon siesta at Barton Springs. You can can sleep, take a refreshing swim and enjoy the sights. You'll be fresh as a daisy and ready for a night on the town.
Oliver and I ran down there and took a swim this morning. Great way to start the day.
This Kings of Leon short looks like the devil possessed REM and remade the "Losing My Religion" video.
Jumbo, stop taunting us with stories of Barton Springs. It aint fair.
